Accessibility Statement
Zapnito is committed to providing a platform that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We are actively working to increase the accessibility of our platform and in doing so, adhere to the Website Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 level AA (WCAG 2.1).
Conformance statement
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. The Zapnito platform is currently partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.
Measures to support accessibility
Accessibility is an integral part of our product development process. With this in mind we have taken the following proactive steps:
- We have implemented a new set of design principles to ensure accessibility is considered from the ground up.
- Accessibility is a mandatory criteria of our QA and testing process.
- We conduct monthly audits on the Zapnito platform to constantly monitor and improve our accessibility standards.
- We provide the tools and guidance for our customers to ensure the content they produce within their communities are accessible for their users
To aid us in our mission to make the Zapnito platform as accessible as possible, we use many best-in-class tools, including:
- Deque Axe - A Chrome extension that scans output HTML and CSS for basic accessibility errors.
- Storybook a11y addon - An addon for Storybook that scans UI components for accessible markup
- ChromeVox - For screen reader testing
- Stark - A Figma plugin for colour contrast testing (for WCAG 2.1)
- Advanced Contrast - A Figma plugin for future-proofing colour contrast against the new APCA contrast algorithm (for WCAG 3.0)
- Color Blind - A Figma plugin that previews a design in varying types of colour blindness (such as deuteranomaly, protanomaly, protanopia, and deuteranopia)
